SYDNEY. 20 February 2025 -- Morningstar Australasia Pty Limited, a subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc. (Nasdaq: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, has today announced the winners of the 2025 Morningstar Awards for Investing Excellence in Australia. The awards recognise funds and asset managers that have served investors well over the long term and which Morningstar’s manager research team believes will be able to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns over time.
“With peak inflation, growth uncertainty and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, the U.S. Elections, 2024 was a challenging year to navigate, even for the best investors” said Matt Olsen, Morningstar Australasia’s Director, Manager Research.

Award finalists and winners are determined by a combination of research by Morningstar's manager research analysts; risk-adjusted medium- to long-term performance track records; and performance in the 2024 calendar year.

The team spearheaded by Mark Arnold and Jason Orthman navigated 2024 exceptionally well with a portfolio tilted towards tech stocks.
Fund Manager of the Year: Domestic Equities - Small Cap
The Hyperion Small Growth Companies Fund is managed by the highly regarded Mark Arnold and Jason Orthman with their differentiated and peer-leading research insights. Central to the process is detailed bottom-up company research, rigorous financial modelling, and a genuine focus on long-term growth.
Fund Manager of the Year: Global Equities
The Hyperion Global Growth Companies Fund is a very concentrated portfolio of high-quality business franchises with strong long term growth potential. The well-known team, led by Mark Arnold and Jason Orthman, focuses on the long term, whilst avoiding the risk of permanent loss of capital. They have navigated 2024 exceptionally well investing in stocks like Palantir or Spotify.
Fund Manager of the Year: Fixed Interest
The Yarra Enhanced Income Fund is led by experienced co-heads Roy Keenan and Darren Langer. The strategy has access to one of the largest domestic fixed-income teams. It’s an Australian-oriented credit strategy, comfortable going against the grain and seizing on attractive valuation opportunities when they arise.
Fund Manager of the Year: Listed Property and Infrastructure
The Resolution Capital Global Listed Infrastructure Fund is widely recognized for their expertise and origins in the global listed property space. Co-portfolio managers Jan De Vos, Sarah Lau and Mark Jones are making great progress in the listed infrastructure sector.

The Robeco Global Developed Sustainable Enhanced Index Equity Fund is managed by a team of 6 including Tim Droge, the longest-tenured manager on the strategy. These awards are determined by a combination of risk-adjusted medium- to long-term performance track records and Morningstar’s forward-looking rating for funds, the Morningstar Medalist Rating™ including its Parent pillar component. The Medalist Rating is set on a five-tier scale running from Gold, Silver, Bronze, Neutral and Negative at the share class level.
